Beach Shuttles CR (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides shuttle and tour transportation in Costa Rica. This policy explains what information we collect through beachshuttles.com, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
What we collect
When you fill out our booking or contact form, we collect what you type in: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and trip details such as pickup and drop-off location, dates, times, passenger count, and any notes, flight number, or add-ons you request. If your booking needs card verification, we also collect a billing address and a signed name on the rental agreement.
We do not collect anything through hidden tracking on the form beyond a couple of anti-spam fields you never see, meant only to catch automated bots.
Why we collect it
We use this information to confirm your booking, arrange your pickup, answer your questions, and process payment. We keep a record of completed bookings so we can find your reservation if you contact us, and so we can send your confirmation.
Payments
When your card needs to be verified, a secure third-party payment processor handles that step on its own secure page. We never see, receive, or store your full card number, expiry date, or security code. What we keep on file is limited to the card brand, the last four digits, and a payment reference number, so we can match a payment to a booking.
Analytics and cookies
We use a small set of tools to understand how people use our site and to keep it running smoothly. These include analytics tools that show which pages visitors view and how they arrive at the site, a simple page-view counter, and a spam-protection service that keeps bots out of our forms.
We also use Microsoft Clarity, a session-recording and analytics tool, to see how people move through the site so we can improve it. Your name, email, and phone number are masked in these recordings and never visible in them. Microsoft may collect personal data from visitors to our website through this tool; you can read Microsoft’s privacy statement at https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystatement.
These tools use cookies and similar technology, mostly set by the providers themselves rather than by our own code. If you’d rather not be tracked this way, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may work less smoothly as a result.
Advertising
We advertise Beach Shuttles CR on social media platforms. These ads do not use tracking pixels or remarketing on our site today, so they do not add to the information described above.
Who we share your information with
We share information only where it is needed to run the site and your booking:
- A secure third-party payment processor, to process your payment.
- The analytics and spam-protection providers listed above, including Microsoft for the session-recording tool.
- Our own email, so our team can see and respond to your booking or message.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as needed to handle your trip, answer follow-up questions, and meet our own recordkeeping needs. If you’d like us to delete your information sooner, contact us and we will do so unless we have a legitimate reason to keep it, such as an unresolved payment issue.
Your rights
Under Costa Rica’s Law 8968 on the Protection of Personal Data, you can ask us to show you what information we hold about you, correct anything that’s wrong, or delete it. Children
Our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our site or services change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. We encourage you to check back occasionally.
